Congrats to Taylor Mays for being the early leader in the clubhouse as our #1 ranked prospect. The 6'3", 230 pound safety is a freakish athlete and might have flirted with our 5 star ranking if he decided to leave early. Instead, he goes back to school and will likely become one of the best defensive prospects in quite some time.

2009 NFL Draft Analysis: Jacksonville Jaguars

Article ImageSince this team came into existence, the Jaguars have proven themselves to be rather agile draft day experts. In their first draft, they selected two pieces of a core that took the team to the AFC Championship Game.

For 2009, this team needed to surround QB David Garrard with some more protection and a few new receivers. Jacksonville had purged their receiver corps in the time leading up to the draft. In March, I had the pleasure to play Jaguars GM for the day in the big mock draft over at the Examiner.com. In that role, I selected WR Jeremy Macklin out of Missouri.

Of course in the mock draft, all of the big offensive linemen had already been selected, and as one can already tell, I am not sold on Andre Smith. I also thought that there was ...
