Nicks, a junior WR for the Tar Heels, had a monster game in a loss to West Virginia. He had 8 catches for 217 yards and 3 TDs. Two of the catches were instant highlight reel grabs as Nicks, who’s been talking about leaving UNC for the NFL since the summer, pads his NFL resume.

Article ImageSeveral players announced their intentions to skip their final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft over the past few days. Here is a recap of the recent significant declarations, along with a list of all other declarations:

Andre Smith, OT, Alabama - Andre Smith, the 2008 Outland Trophy winner, has confirmed that he will be skipping his senior season to join the NFL. He is certainly an elite prospect and a lock to be a top 10 pick. Many view him as a top 3 player, but I am not sold that he is better than Michael Oher and Eugene Moore at this point. I feel that they offer a little more athletically than Smith does. However, Smith is much bigger, is a far greater run blocker, and can likely play tackle or guard at the next level.
